Arnheim is a historic plantation house in Radford, Virginia, built between 1838 and 1840 by Dr. John Blair Radford, for whom the city is named. The two-story brick dwelling combines Federal and Greek Revival design, with a three-bay front, a symmetrical double-pile plan, and a raised brick basement. Closely tied to Radford’s early development, the property later gained a public role in 1939 when it was converted into a home economics annex for the adjacent Radford High School. Its significance also includes a documented contributing archaeological site, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
