“Constant Friendship” was owned by the largest colonial landowner in this part of Maryland, who served as Deputy Surveyor-General of Baltimore County, then including Harford County, and was the father of Bishop William White, the first presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church and Chaplain of the Continental Congress.
