Chilo Lock and Dam 34 Powerhouse was built by the US Army Corps of Engineers and dedicated on October 6, 1925. It was renovated by the Clermont County Park District on August 27, 2005. The Board of Park Commissioners included William A. Stearns, Chairman, Kenneth R. Stewart, David H. Anspach, and Christopher L. Clingman, Director.
