Mount Tom State Reservation is a state park in western Massachusetts' Connecticut River Valley, just north of Springfield, encompassing the Mount Tom Range. Its ridge is known for high cliffs, rugged scenery, and notable biological diversity. Used year-round, the reservation supports hiking, picnicking, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice skating. Part of the one hundred ten-mile Metacomet-Monadnock Trail runs through the park, and seasonal auto roads offer additional access. The ridge is also an important place for observing the seasonal migration of raptors.
