The Old Rockport Pioneer Cemetery contains the graves of Rockport’s early settlers, including town founder Daniel Grass, his wife, and his son. The names of those buried there were taken from newspapers and tombstone readings in 1926, 1965, 1985, 2004, and 2006. Those buried include Rockport’s first doctor, the publisher of its first newspaper, the first clerk and recorder of Spencer County, and the son of the builder of the Methodist Church and the Seminary School.
