Henry Lloyd played in Negro League baseball from 1906 to 1932 and was regarded as the finest shortstop in Atlantic City Negro baseball. Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977, he upheld the dignity of the game, helped advance opportunities for African Americans in the major leagues, and served as a humanitarian and example to the youth of Atlantic City.
