Robert H. Treman State Park spans 1,110 acres in New York’s Finger Lakes region across Ithaca, Enfield, and Newfield, centered on the deep gorge of Enfield Glen. Robert H. Treman began assembling the parkland in 1915 around Enfield Falls, improved it with extensive tree planting, and in 1920 he and his wife Laura donated it to New York State as Enfield Glen State Park; it was renamed after his death in 1937. The park is known for gorge and rim trails, Lower Falls, and 115-foot Lucifer Falls, as well as a landscape of Devonian shale and sandstone shaped after the last ice age into a dramatic recreational setting.
