Bridal Veil Falls is the smallest of Niagara Falls’ three waterfalls on the United States side in New York, separated from the American Falls by Luna Island and from the Horseshoe Falls by Goat Island. Its narrow crest, northwest-facing position, and slim ribbon of water give it its name. Like the American Falls, it begins with a vertical plunge before continuing over talus boulders to the Maid of the Mist pool below. Closely associated with popular viewpoints, it can be approached from Luna Island and from the Cave of the Winds at its base. Also known in the past as Luna Falls and Iris Falls, it is one of the American side’s most distinctive natural features.
