Near Frederick, Maryland, the Biggs Ford Site is one of the few known large late prehistoric Native American village sites near the Monocacy River. Dating to the Middle to Late Woodland period, it reflects a long era of pre-contact Indigenous occupation in the region and offers important evidence about village life along the Monocacy. Its archaeological value was formally recognized when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The site is chiefly important today as a protected archaeological location rather than as a visitor destination.
