Wimer Bridge spans Evans Creek in Wimer, Oregon, carrying East Evans Creek County Road over a tributary of the Rogue River. A covered bridge has stood at this site since 1892, when J. W. Osbourne built an early span, and the better-known replacement of 1927 later gained recognition on the National Register of Historic Places. Residents refurbished the aging bridge in 1962, but deterioration continued, leading to closure, weight limits, and repeated repairs. In 2003 it collapsed into the creek, injuring three people. A look-alike replacement opened in February 2008, preserving the traditional covered-bridge appearance while using stronger modern materials.
