Ordway's Mill
Industry
2
In the Pineground area on the Suncook River, one of the earlier water mills was built and became commonly known as Ordway's Mill. It was a grist and saw mill that ground grain and manufactured boards, shingles, and clapboards. A good part of the mill stood over the river, and it was driven by two turbines. On March 2, 1897, when the river was very high, ice worked out all the under part of the mill, causing it to go down.
