Established in 2012 in Ogden, Utah, the Utah Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum preserves the material culture and stories of the American frontier within Ogden Union Station’s museum complex. Centered on the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame, it honors not only cowboys but also the artists, performers, musicians, writers, and others whose lives reflect Utah’s Western heritage. Created under the Ogden Pioneer Days Foundation with Susan Van Hooser leading a rapid six-week effort, the museum gathers artifacts, books, catalogs, photographs, and oral and written histories, including Native American materials, to document the diversity and development of Utah’s Western traditions and support future research.
