Father Franz Joseph Rudolf laid the cornerstone on September 8, 1846. It succeeded the original log church of St. Mary in 1848, was consecrated on April 14, 1850, and was replaced by the present Holy Family Church in 1862. In 1866 it became part of the Franciscan Friary, and in 1985 it was renovated into the present rectory.
