Spring Garden School
Education
During the late 1920s and early 1930s, Spring Garden School was a two-story wooden structure on the hill across the road, with grades one through nine taught in two rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs. In 1936, a new brick building was constructed to include grades one through twelve, and it included an indoor basketball court, the community's favorite spectator sport. On December 6, 1945, this building was destroyed by fire, and classes were held in the vocational building and churches in the community. Spring Garden School was rebuilt in 1947 and still educates the youth of the community today.
