The earliest Friends Meeting House west of Utica was built of logs near this spot by pioneers in 1796. A frame structure built in 1804 was replaced in 1876 by the present building. A larger meeting house built opposite this site accommodated the yearly meeting and was used for worship from 1816 to 1926.
