This community honored the boys who answered their country’s call in World War I, naming Homer Earl, Nicola Elmo, Frank Glendenning, and Charles Jenets among the honored dead and listing a long honor roll of veterans from the community, and dedicated the memorial on Nov. 11, 1919, with the words, “That liberty and justice and equity might not perish.”
