James Farm was the home of Rev. Robert James, a Baptist minister who came here in 1840. His son Jesse was born here and, with his brother Frank, was involved with the Bushwhackers in criminal escapades until Jesse was killed in 1882. Frank surrendered and lived with his family. The house is probably the oldest in the county.
