Barton Warnock Visitor Center is a 99.9-acre protected area in Brewster County, Texas, serving as the eastern visitor center for Big Bend Ranch State Park. It focuses on the Big Bend region’s archaeological, historical, and natural history. Built in 1982 by the Lajitas Foundation, the site was first called the Lajitas Museum Desert Gardens. In October 1990, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department bought the center and renamed it for botanist Barton Holland Warnock, whose research made him a leading authority on the flora of the Trans-Pecos and the northern Chihuahuan Desert.
