Concord Baptist Church was established about 1848. Its present site was donated by Blake Rinehart. It was named for a church in Bostic, N.C., and that church was located two miles north of this site until 1914. A church school operated until 1923. Prominent pastors included E.B. Reynolds from 1848 to 1849, Prier Scally from 1849 to 1870, and Joseph Crawford from 1922 to 1934 and from 1945 to 1957. The cemetery was established in 1925.
