Seth Low Pierrepont State Park Reserve is a 305-acre public recreation area in Ridgefield, Connecticut, centered on 38-acre Lake Naraneka and used for hiking, fishing, boating, and picnicking. The land also preserves older history: General David Wooster led troops along Old Barlow Mountain Road during the Revolutionary War, John Barlow’s blacksmith shop stood here, and the Scott House foundation dates to the 1720s, with stone walls and enclosures remaining from the Scott family farm. In the 1930s, diplomat Seth Low Pierrepont reshaped the property by damming a swamp to create the lake, and after his death in 1956 part of the estate passed to the state.
