Raymond Peak is a 10,014-foot volcanic mountain in the Mokelumne Wilderness of eastern California, north of Ebbetts Pass, on land managed by Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest. Its jagged pinnacles and steep rise above nearby terrain make it a striking landmark, visible from Highway 395 and approached by the Pacific Crest Trail from Ebbetts Pass or Lower Sunset Lake. Named in 1865 by the Whitney Survey for mining engineer, legal scholar, and author Rossiter W. Raymond, it later lent its name to several nearby features. The peak is valued for its dramatic form, alpine setting, and prominence along a scenic stretch of the northern Sierra.
