Bernie Pollack owned Pollack's Mink Farm in Deer Lake, PA, was involved in the fight game, promoted and managed amateur and professional boxers, and had an outdoor ring built at the farm where they trained. He invited Muhammad Ali to train on the farm, and Ali accepted. After storms interrupted his training, Ali decided to build a permanent training camp nearby on six acres of land purchased from Bernie. Through Ali's vision and his friendship with Bernie Pollack, this led to the creation of Fighter's Heaven.
