Mahanoy City Lodge No. 695 BPOE was instituted on May 22, 1901, with a charter membership of 31 members. Its current home site was dedicated on May 27, 1916. The building’s first floor housed the Elks Theater, the second floor contained the grille, dining room, bowling alley, and billiards, and the third floor held the magnificent meeting room.
