Wizard Falls was a twelve-foot waterfall on Oregon’s Metolius River near Black Butte and Sisters, in the Willamette National Forest area. Located on the northwestern foothills near Three Fingered Jack, with Mount Washington to the south and Mount Jefferson to the north, it was largely lost in 1948 when the Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery diverted the upstream river to fill its rearing ponds. The diversion left the falls dry except during complete hatchery shutdowns for cleaning or maintenance. The former site remains a recreation focus at the Wizard Falls trailhead, where trails follow the river past the hatchery and nearby campgrounds, while a rapid near Lower Bridge is often mistaken for the original falls.
