G.F. Harding, trustee of Capitol Freehold Land and Investment Company [XIT Syndicate], deeded lots 13-24 in Block 20 in Channing, Hartley County, Texas, to the city for a grave yard. The original trustees were Albert G. Boyce, Candid Oakes, and William Powell. The earliest marked burial is Tuofilo “Murio” Bargas on 10 April 1893.
