Henry Roddenberry

Henry Roddenberry was born in 1803 and died in 1861. He was the son of George Roddenberry, who lived from 1758 to 1850, was a soldier in the American Revolution, and settled near Traders Hill about 1835. Henry Roddenberry served as a mounted soldier in the Indian War from 1838 to 1839. Considered a first citizen of Charlton County, he was its first Tax Collector from 1854 to 1855, its first State Senator from 1855 to 1856, and a public servant until his death in 1861. He was regarded as a born leader, honored and respected by all, and revered by his posterity.
