Benj. Franklin Carr was one of the first settlers of Fulton, Kentucky. He bought the first land grant here in 1828 and accumulated over 1100 acres in Fulton, West Fulton, and Riceville. The Carr home is one block west. His family gave land for the first railroad in the area and for the First Baptist and First Christian churches.
