Elk Neck State Forest is a protected Maryland forest on the Elk Neck peninsula near North East, managed by the Maryland Forest Service. Covering about 3,300 acres within the Northeastern coastal forests ecoregion, it includes wooded flatland, rolling hills, marshland, and the Plum Creek and Plum Creek Pond area in its south-central section. Part of the Mason-Dixon Trail passes through the forest. Access comes primarily from Irishtown Road, with additional gated entrances on Huminski Road and Starkey Lane, and gravel roads leading to deeper woods, trailheads, and small parking areas. The forest serves both conservation and recreation, including hiking, hunting, and shooting ranges.
