Warrenville's first hotel was built here by Julius Morton Warren on the southeast corner of the village he founded, at its highest elevation. Opening on September 28, 1838 with a grand celebration in its second-floor ballroom, it was a political and social center as well as a stagecoach stop for 15 years.
