Overlooking Lake Erie, Point Abino Lighthouse is a rare example of a reinforced concrete lighthouse built in a late neoclassical style. Constructed in 1917-1918, it remained in use for almost eight decades. Its elegantly tapered tower, with proportions reminiscent of a classical column, and the rectangular structure housing the foghorn are embellished with pediments and pilasters typical of the style adopted for this lighthouse.
