Ben Walker, born in England in 1960, moved to the Village of Suffern in 1995 at age 35 and quickly became an important part of the community as a successful and beloved youth soccer coach and as an assistant coach with the Suffern Midget Mounties youth football organization and Ramapo Little League. He worked for Guy Carpenter and Co. and was on the 94th floor of World Trade Center Tower One when terrorists attacked on Sept. 11, 2001. He was survived by his wife Laura, sons Christopher and Henry, and daughter Samantha. Vincenzo "Vinny" Tamburro, born in Italy in 1963, was a popular youth coach and public servant who worked extensively in the Village of Suffern and for the City of Rye. A volunteer firefighter in the Suffern Fire Department for his entire adult life, he spent many years as the department's Fire Safety Instructor, visiting district schools to educate children about fire safety and protocol. He also served on the Suffern Parking Authority, belonged to the New York State Building Officials Conference and the National Fire Protection Agency, and was a past president of the American Public Works Association. A long-time youth baseball and football coach, he was survived by his wife Karen and their children Taylor, Jake, Morgan, and Kyle.
