Delirium Wilderness is an 11,870-acre protected area in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula within Hiawatha National Forest. This flat-to-rolling forest was shaped by glaciers and an ancient glacial lake, creating a wet, wooded landscape with swampy low ground and elevations from about 590 to 890 feet. Its interior includes Sylvester Pond, Delirium Pond, and parts of the headwaters of the Pine and Waiska Rivers. Swamp conifer, aspen, and white cedar dominate much of the vegetation, with red and jack pine on drier ground. The area supports a wide range of wildlife, including beaver, bobcat, otter, wolf, waterbirds, black bear, rabbit, and whitetail deer.
