North Bend State Park in West Virginia near Harrisville occupies 2,459 acres along the North Fork of the Hughes River, and its name comes from a sharp river bend that once formed three sides of the original boundary. The park's reach extends beyond its main grounds through management of the 72-mile North Bend Rail Trail, a regional hiking and biking route. North Bend Lake, a newer addition covering 305 acres, adds another major recreation area.
