Greenbo Lake State Resort Park centers on the two hundred twenty-five-acre Greenbo Lake, where visitors can explore by canoe, motor boat, pontoon ride, or bicycle, with rentals available, and fish for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and trout; the park also offers twenty-five miles of hiking trails, a community pool, an outdoor theatre, the Jesse Stuart Lodge named for poet laureate Jesse Hilton Stuart, and camping with sixty-three utility hook-up sites and thirty-five primitive sites. Two historic structures reflect Greenup County's past: Buffalo Iron Furnace, built in 1851 by Hollister and Company, whose massive stone tower remains a tangible reminder of the county's industrial history, and Oldtown Covered Bridge, built in 1880 on Burr's Patented Design with a center stone support and two unequal spans, restored in 1992-1993, and open only to pedestrians.
