The Confederate soldiers of Union County, South Carolina, were remembered for truth, courage, and patriotism, and as men who gave their lives and fortunes to home and country in vindication of rights reserved to the states and guaranteed by the Federal Constitution as adopted and ratified by South Carolina on May 23, 1788.
