A. Lincoln Post No. 19 of the Department of Michigan, Grand Army of the Republic, included 296 members who fought from 1861 till 1865 to save the Union. A. Lincoln Woman’s Relief Corps No. 89, through forty years of devoted service, helped the Post keep burning the fires of patriotism and loyalty in the Bangor community. In 1926, surviving members of the Post and Corps and loyal citizens of Bangor honored their service.
