Colonel Joe T. Haney Field was dedicated to former members of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band who marched and rehearsed there and, through hard work and determination, learned the skills needed to perform the flawless halftime drills that became the band’s hallmark. The drill field remained a visible reminder of where thousands gathered to become proud members of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, created memories, and developed friendships that lasted a lifetime. For decades, the dignified footsteps, echoing brass, and thunderous cadences of the Texas Aggie Band filled the field. On that hallowed ground, members of the Aggie Band developed discipline, precision, teamwork, camaraderie, unity of spirit, and enduring pride, becoming good enough, proud enough, and tough enough to be called “The Noble Men of Kyle.”
