On this site, Ray A. Kroc, founder of McDonald's Corporation, opened his first McDonald's franchise, the ninth McDonald's drive-in in the U.S., on April 15, 1955. In memory of his wisdom and spirit, McDonald's Corporation dedicated this site to Ray A. Kroc, leader and friend, on April 15, 1985.
