Grouse Mountain is a peak in western New Mexico in the Gila Wilderness of the Mogollon Mountains, about 7 miles southeast of Mogollon and accessible by the Holt Apache Trail. Within the state, it ranks 198th in elevation and 619th in prominence. Its significance lies chiefly in its setting within one of New Mexico’s remote mountain landscapes, where it is valued as a natural geographic feature and hiking destination rather than a developed site.
