Milford honored members of the community who served in World War I and World War II, including those who died in service. The World War I honored dead were Ancil Geiger, Charles Frederick Neal, and Jesse E. Smith, and the World War II honored dead were Lewis E. Auer, Roy N. Auer, Robert L. Collins, Charles LeCount, Alvin J. Merkle, Harry J. Michael, Charles E. Remy, Charles H. Rogers, Howard C. Stiffler, Ora Stout, and Joe A. Tribble. It also recorded the community’s World War I veterans for 1917 to 1918 and World War II veterans for 1941 to 1945 by name. Charles A. Sparklin and his wife gave this site to the Town of Milford on Oct. 18, 1935, for park and municipal purposes.
