Mount Sizer, in Henry W. Coe State Park east of Morgan Hill, California, is the highest point on Blue Ridge at about 3,216 feet, though some sources give 3,219 feet. Its prominence and location less than 10 miles from park headquarters make it a favored destination for day hikers. The summit can be reached by either an all-trail route or a combination of trail and fire road. The steeper fire road option, locally called “The Shortcut,” climbs nearly straight up Blue Ridge, gaining about 1,500 feet in 1.3 miles at an average grade of roughly 22 percent.
