Dittmar Volcano is an extinct stratovolcano in northern California’s Cascade Range near Lassen Peak. East of Mount Tehama and southeast of Lassen Peak, it stands within a broader volcanic landscape that also includes Lake Almanor, Mount Harkness, and the Caribou volcanic field. It is one of the older volcanoes encircling the Lassen area, and little of its original shape survives because of its great age and long erosion. The site is also tied to later nearby volcanic features, especially Mount Harkness. Dittmar Volcano is significant chiefly as part of the older volcanic terrain surrounding modern Lassen Peak.
