Norsketinden is a prominent mountain in the Stauning Alps of eastern Greenland, rising inland from Alpefjord between the Vikingebrae and the Gully Glacier in a notably rugged alpine setting. It is regarded as one of the highest peaks in the range, although reported elevations differ among sources, a common problem in remote polar regions where mapping has been difficult. A Danish–Norwegian expedition made the first ascent on 7 August 1954. Proposed names honoring Erik the Red were set aside, and the peak became known as Norsketinden. It remains notable for both its dramatic glacial surroundings and its place in East Greenland's exploration history.
