Osceola "Soo" Depot
Transportation
3
The Osceola "Soo" Depot was built in 1916 to replace a smaller wooden structure destroyed when two engines collided in front of it. Constructed of red, wire cut brick with white sandstone trim, it was very modern for its time, with men's and women's waiting rooms, a spacious station agent's office, and a large freight room with an attached warm room. The tracks north of the depot were part of the original Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie line, later known as the Soo line.
