In Washington, DC, and Arlington, Virginia, one hundred twenty-five people were killed and one hundred six were injured when hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the west side of the Pentagon at 0937; after extensive damage from the plane crash and massive fires from jet fuel, the west side of the complex collapsed at 1010.
