The original house was built in 1899 by planter Ruben V. Glassell and his wife Vivian. It faced west and had a center hall in the dogtrot style. Around 1910, interior columns and porches on the south and east sides were added, and the south side became the front of the house. In 1953, the east porch was enclosed to form three additional rooms. In 1982, it became the home of Andrew and Linda Marino and their four children.
