Old Eagle School, near Strafford Station in Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania, began as part of land bought by Jacob Girardin in 1765, beside a log cabin church and a graveyard holding early settlers and Revolutionary participants. The present stone schoolhouse was built in 1788 as a small one-room building and served not only for schooling but also for political and religious gatherings, making it a central community space. Enlarged in 1835, it later fell into disrepair and was largely replaced by a new school in 1842. Religious disputes and later trusteeship helped shape its preservation as a museum open to the public.
