Oklahoma Baptist College was founded in 1899 by the Oklahoma Baptist Convention and formally opened on September 4, 1901. Its presidents were J.A. Beauchamp from 1901 to 1903, A.P. Stone from 1904 to 1908, J.R. Jester from 1908 to 1909, J.H. Moore from 1909 to 1911, and A.E. Baten from 1911 to 1913. Enrollment reached 208 in 1911, and financial crises forced the college to close on August 12, 1913.
