This settlement was founded in 1908 by German settlers. Its church began as a mission in 1910 and also served as a public school until 1912. A rectory built in 1912 was used as a second school until 1918. The church was remodeled in 1919, moved to Clarkwood in 1952 as a mission church, and returned to its present site in 1975.
