In the early 1800s, this site was established as a Methodist revival meeting campground where services were held under a large brush arbor, though no sanctuary was ever built. The last meeting here took place during the 1880s. The cemetery was established in 1823 with the burial of Joseph Bryant and contains the graves of several Tishomingo and Prentiss County pioneers, elected officials, and veterans of the War of 1812, First Seminole Indian War, Civil War, World War I, and World War II.
